Return and Refund Policy

This Return and Refund Policy covers all purchases made through Izaak Khan Mokume Gane Wedding Rings (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By purchasing from us, you accept all of the terms below.

 

1. Consumer Rights Under New Zealand Law

This Policy does not limit or exclude your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) or the Fair Trading Act 1986 (FTA). If your item is faulty, not of acceptable quality, not fit for purpose, or does not match its description, New Zealand law gives you the right to a remedy which may include repair, replacement, or a refund.

2. Change of Mind Returns

If you change your mind, you can return your undamaged product within 14 days of receiving it. In order for a return to be eligible, items must be:

- In their original condition, unused, and unworn.

- Accompanied by the original receipt or proof of purchase.  

- Returned in their original packaging with any accessories, certificates, and documentation provided.

Upon receipt and inspection of the returned item, we will process a refund of the purchase price to the payment method used for the transaction. Please note that the shipping costs are not refundable and, unless legally required, you will bear the return shipping costs.

3. Non-Returnable Items

Please note that the following mentioned items are not returnable or refundable (except as a matter of NZ law):

- Custom-made or bespoke Mokume Gane jewellery and rings.

- Used, resized, altered, or damaged products once they have been delivered.

- Products which are returned without original packaging and proof of purchase.

4. Exchanges

Wherever it is possible, we are happy to offer an exchange for another item of the same or greater value. If the new item is of greater value, the difference will have to be paid before dispatch.

5. Returns Process

To initiate a return, please e-mail us at mokume.nz@gmail.com or call 0064 21 984 464 within the 14-day return period. We will provide return instructions and the appropriate return address. Products must be returned securely with tracking and insurance; we are not responsible for products lost or damaged in return shipping.

6. Refunds

Refunds will be issued within 10 business days of receipt and inspection of the product being returned. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method only. Allow additional time for banks or payment processors to post the refund.

7. Defective or Faulty Items

If you believe that the product is faulty or defective, please notify us immediately. Once the product is returned and inspected, if a fault is determined, we will repair, replace, or refund the product in accordance with the CGA. For defective goods, we will supply reasonable shipping return costs.

8. Final Note

This Policy is intended to provide clarity and assurance. We welcome you to get in touch with us if you have any concerns and we will try to settle them in a reasonable way and in a manner consistent with New Zealand law.

Refund Policy - International

This Return and Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through Izaak Khan Mokume Gane Wedding Rings (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By purchasing from us, you agree to the terms outlined below.

We serve customers in New Zealand and internationally. This Policy is designed to meet the requirements of New Zealand law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) and the Fair Trading Act 1986 (FTA), as well as key global consumer protection standards such as the EU Consumer Rights Directive (CRD), UK Consumer Contracts Regulations (CCR), and applicable laws in the United States including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) where relevant.

1. Consumer Rights in New Zealand

Nothing in this Policy limits or excludes your rights under the CGA or FTA. If your item is faulty, not of acceptable quality, not fit for purpose, or does not match its description, you are entitled to remedies which may include repair, replacement, or refund.

 

2. International Consumer Rights

EU/EEA Customers: Under the Consumer Rights Directive, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of delivery without giving any reason. You must notify us within this period and return the item within 14 days after notifying us. Refunds will include the product price and standard shipping, but not additional express shipping fees.
UK Customers: Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you also have 14 days from delivery to cancel your order for a full refund.
US Customers: Return rights may vary by state. Where state law grants additional protections, these rights will apply alongside this Policy. The CCPA provides data privacy protections but does not create mandatory refund rights for physical goods.
Other International Customers: Local consumer protection laws may grant additional rights. Nothing in this Policy overrides those protections.

Refunds will be made to your original payment method once we have received and inspected the returned item. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, unless otherwise required by law.

4. Items Not Eligible for Return

Unless required under law, the following items cannot be returned or refunded:

- Custom-made or bespoke Mokume Gane rings and jewellery.
- Items that have been worn, resized, altered, or damaged after delivery.
- Items returned without original packaging or proof of purchase.

5. Exchanges

We are happy to offer exchanges for products of equal or greater value, provided they meet the return criteria above. Any price difference must be paid before the replacement item is dispatched.

6. Process for Returns

- Items must be returned using secure, trackable, and insured shipping.
- We are not responsible for lost or damaged return shipments.

7. International Returns

Products can only be returned in the country of original purchase unless otherwise required by applicable law. Customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees related to return shipments.

8. Faulty or Defective Items

If you believe your item is faulty, please contact us immediately. Once returned and assessed:

- We will repair, replace, or refund the item in accordance with NZ law and international consumer protections.
- For confirmed faults, we will cover reasonable return shipping costs.

9. Refunds

- Refunds are issued to the original payment method only.
- Processing takes up to 10 business days after we receive and inspect the item.
- Banks and payment providers may require additional time to post the refund.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Policy is governed by New Zealand law. However, customers in other jurisdictions will continue to benefit from mandatory local consumer protections under their own laws. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable law and in good faith.
