Shadow and Light
A restrained yet striking contrast of darkness and clarity. This distinctive Mokume Gane band combines the deep, velvety black of ancient Shakudo with the bright, luminous white of Argentium Silver. A soft matte finish reveals a high-contrast wood grain pattern, where dark and light intertwine in fluid, organic movement.
Shakudo is a living metal. Over the first four to six weeks of wear, its surface subtly settles and deepens, enhancing contrast and developing a patina unique to the wearer. The evolving surface ensures no two rings age the same, creating a permanent and personal relationship between ring and owner.
This two-metal combination is a refined fusion of sustainably sourced precious metals. Each ring is forged from responsibly sourced materials, reflecting Izaak Khan’s commitment to ethical craftsmanship and enduring quality.
Forged using the 17th-century Japanese technique of Mokume Gane “wood grain metal,” this band is created through precise layering, controlled heat, and careful carving, revealing a natural pattern shaped by both intention and time.
